Hotel Steward Roles and Responsibilities

 

Guest Service:

Ensure that all guests are served to the Fine Dining standard. Display highest standards of hospitality and welcome are demonstrated at all times within all food and beverage areas.Greets guests and presents them with the menu. Informs guests about the special items for the day and menu changes if any. Suggest food and beverages to the guest and also try to up sell.

 

Order Management:

Relay orders to the kitchen staff accurately.Deliver dishes to the table while maintaining presentation and quality.Assist with food plating and garnishing if required.

 

Teamwork and Coordination

 

  • Work closely with kitchen staff, stewards, and other waiters to ensure smooth service flow.
  • Assist fellow team members during peak service times.
  • Collaborate with the stewarding team to ensure cleanliness of utensils and service stations.

Billing and Payment

 

  • Present the bill to guests and process payments accurately.
  • Handle cash, credit card transactions, or room charges as required.

Safety and Hygiene Standards

 

  • Follow hygiene and safety protocols, including proper food handling practices.
  • Maintain personal grooming and hygiene in line with hotel standards.
  • Follow emergency procedures when required.
